FAQS
AT WHAT AGE DO MOST PEOPLE START TAE KWON DO?
At Shin’s Martial Arts we do not charge for introductory courses, we offer free trial classes so that you may experience Tae Kwon Do in a commitment free environment. Whether you come for a free trial class or your first classes, you will be paired with an experienced teacher and will benefit of the one on one attention that you need until you are comfortable in the the class. This will allow us to answer any questions that you may have and will take most of your anxiety away. This also permits you to join the classes immediately, while still receiving the exclusive attention that makes you comfortable. This method allows for rapid progress early on and makes it possible for you to practice with martial artists of your age from the very beginning. As well, this offers a way for families to practice together in an environment where each family member can progress and enjoy Tae Kwon Do according to his or her age and abilities.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING MY FIRST CLASS?
Unlike some other sports, Tae Kwon Do is fit for people of all ages. At Shin’s Martial Arts, we have practitioners ranging from 3 to over 70 years old. Our students are evenly divided between children, teens, and adults. Many of our martial artists started practicing Tae Kwon Do during their 20s, 30s, or later. And, as some of our children started as young as three, some began in their teenage years. At our school you aways fit in.
WHAT IF I HAVE PREVIOUS TAE KWON DO EXPERIENCE?
If you have practiced Tae Kwon Do before but have stopped, you will feel welcome in our Tae Kwon Do family. Whether you moved away from your last martial arts school, did not find the right match for you, or took time off for other reasons, you will be able to continue your training at Shin’s Martial Arts. Many of our practitioners practiced as children and returned as adults, or came to us in search of a new Tae Kwon Do school and have found a home at Shin’s Martial Arts. At our school, you will find an encouraging and motivating place to continue your Tae Kwon Do travel regardless of your level.
WHAT IF I CAME FROM A DIFFERENT STYLE OR ORGANIZATION?
Grand Master Shin’s knowledge of Martial Arts beyond Tae Kwon Do is extensive. His experience and understanding extends to the practice and forms (poomsaes) of all Tae Kwon Do styles. His expertise of their history and of Tae Kwon Do history in general is also unparalleled. Grand Master Shin has helped many practitioner’s transition to WFT and Moo Duk Kwan and has helped many martial artists achieve the desired certifications. Whether you originated in WTF, ITF, ATA, Soo Bahk Do, or in another organization, Master Shin can help you transition to WTF or to Moo Duk Kwan and can help with the necessary certifications.
HOW MANY CLASSES CAN I ATTEND?
We offer unlimited attendance. At our school, we believe that more practice is the key to better Tae Kwon Do. We have 11 classes per week and each class lasts 90 minutes allowing as much practice in just one class as most schools allow in a whole week.
